One of the goals of organizing outreach and education programs is to help alleviate the feeling of isolation that can arise when a community comes to grips with the implications of our the current interactions between people and the environment, whether it is through Peak Oil and energy decline, or environmental degradation, or the erosion of democratic rights.. Education and outreach encourage and engage community response to these issues. This support might come in the form of signatures to help pass a motion in your municipality, volunteering help pulling weeds in a community garden, an in-kind donation, or leadership in conducting an assessment on community needs. Projects relating to provisioning generally require a level of community involvement.

Education and outreach might entail putting on film screenings around your community, or they might be organizing or participating in a conference that brings people together to talk about Relocalization strategies. Education and outreach might include organizing smaller events that instigate discussion, bringing in guest speakers, or putting together a local radio broadcast.

This section will include resources on various community education and outreach programs, and project ideas for your community.
